Screen Printing is one of the most versatile methods of printing. Although apparel printing is the most popular service we offer, we can also print on other materials such as paper, cardboard, vinyl, metals, plastic, and many other surfaces.
Screen Printing is fairly simple. The following steps give a quick overview of our screen printing process.
ARTWORK:
A design is drawn, traced, scanned or called up from an existing computer image and printed on a transparent film.
SCREEN:
A screen frame is stretched with polyester screen fabric.
STENCIL PREPARATION:
The fabric is prepared with a photographic stencil and the artwork is transferred to it by exposing it to ultra-violet light. The artwork is developed on the stencil by rinsing it with water.
PRINTING:
The screen is placed in a press and lowered to the top of the garment and the ink is transferred through the stencil with a squeegee.
CURING or DRYING:
The printed garment is run through a dryer or hung to dry (if water based ink is used).
THE FINISHED PRODUCT:
The garment is now ready to be presented to the customer!
